MANTUA is a pulp-horror comedy in the vein of “Creepshow” and “Tales from the Crypt.” This 75-minute film is the first installment of what’s intended to be a trilogy. The film has many non-actor performances, but does showcase the skilled talents of Mike Akers, Hank Fiorini, Susan Martin, and Lauren Ashley Carter. It was shot with Canon 1080i camcorders for approximately 00. We hope to build a cult following and NEED YOUR HELP! Please share our movie with friends, and let us know how you like it. MANTUA When FBI Agents Johnny and Teddy Breuziski (Brent Simon) mysteriously go missing, Special Agent Stephanie Bellman (Mike Akers) is sent to the small town of Mantua, OH to investigate. Meanwhile, Veteran Boo Smith (Vel) is also looking for a missing friend. These two come to an unsavory CLIMAX as they fall deeper into the rabbit hole of this strange town. Bellman is forced to return with back-up, but is hopelessly out of touch with the “local talent.” A stone-crazed cult called The Order of the Green Dawn has manipulated Pot plants for a stronger effect, and an A$ $ hole drug dealer learns the cult’s secret ingredient the hard way. Bellman, disgraced, is given one final oppurtunity to redeem himself and the bureau. Why has a sexy young stripper had her organs removed? Will Bellman discover the dark truth of Mantua, Ohio, or will he herald the child of The Organic Ones???

The Immortals

In the not-too-distant future the United States is ravaged by disease and stifled by martial law. The soundtrack was composed in August 1951 and was Bernard Herrmann’s first soundtrack after he moved to Hollywood. Herrmann chose unusual instrumentation for the film: violins, cellos, and basses (all three electric), two theremin electronic instruments (played by Dr. Samuel Hoffman and Paul Shure), two Hammond organs, a large studio electric organ, three vibraphones, two glockenspiels, marimba, tam-tam, 2 bass drums, 3 sets of timpani, two pianos, celesta, two harps, 1 horn, three trumpets, three trombones, and four tubas. Unusual overdubbing and tape-reversal techniques were used, as well. 20th Century Fox later reused the Herrmann title theme in the original pilot episode for Irwin Allen’s 1965 TV series Lost in Space. Danny Elfman noted The Day the Earth Stood Still’s score inspired his interest in film composing, and made him a fan of Herrmann. The Day the Earth Stood Still is a 1951 American science fiction film that tells the story of a humanoid alien visitor who comes to visit the Earth with a warning, accompanied by his powerful robot, “Gort”. Robert Wise directed this film, and its leading actors and actresses were Michael Rennie, Patricia Neal, Sam Jaffe, and Hugh Marlowe. “Gort” is also a primary character in this motion picture, but he is portrayed as a completely mechanical man.
